Planning the Future with Bennie Wall of Carrell, Blanton, Ferris & Associates

Bennie Wall is the Managing Principal in the Fredericksburg office of Carrell Blanton Ferris & Associates, PLC, a premier law firm that focuses exclusively on Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Elder Law. Bennie joined the firm in 2017 as an estate administration associate.  Early in his career, he witnessed firsthand how a lack of planning creates turmoil and stress for families during some of the most difficult moments. Bennie said, “I wanted to be part of the solution by helping families plan ahead so they could avoid unnecessary complications and experience smooth transitions when the time came.”

Wall explained, “Our guiding philosophy is simple: peace of mind through proactive planning. We believe that every family deserves a thoughtful, customized plan that not only reflects their values but also safeguards their legacy. Estate planning may seem procedural, but to us, it’s deeply personal. We help people preserve their stories, their wishes, and their legacies.”

Bennie’s own legacy is rooted in his family. He cited his grandfather, who passed away in 2014, as his greatest inspiration. Bennie’s grandfather was a supervisor at a local textile mill who also ran his own business – a small convenience store on Highway 58. Wall said, “No matter how busy he was, he always had time for family. He embodied wisdom, patience, and quiet strength – qualities I try to emulate in both my personal and professional life.”

Coming full circle, Bennie now finds inspiration in his own 5-month-old son, who is currently in the giggling, rolling, and bright-eyed stage of life. Wall shared, “Every morning I see him as a blank slate full of potential, and he reminds me daily of the importance of protecting and planning for our loved ones.” Bennie and his wife, a dedicated teacher at Stafford High School, are both busy planning their lives around their new son. Bennie brings this personal goal of planning into his professional work, approaching every client with compassion, transparency, and a focus on long-term protection.

Wall said, “At our core, [Carrell Blanton Ferris] strives to make complex legal matters feel approachable, understandable, and even empowering for our clients. Planning isn’t just for the wealthy or the elderly – it’s for everyone.” Bennie continued, “Our goal is to be a trusted resource for you and your family, to answer your questions without judgment, and to help you feel secure about the future.”

When asked what it is like to work for Carrell Blanton Ferris, Bennie smiled, saying, “We’re a fun group – really! And thankfully, our clients are, too. Each day brings new people, new stories, and often, shared laughter.” He elaborated, “One of our favorite ongoing traditions involves a small plastic reindeer named Prince William. He makes surprise appearances around the office – hidden in filing cabinets, on bookshelves, or tucked behind monitors.” Wall explained, “It’s a running game to see how long it takes someone to find him. Sometimes, a client spots him first and gets a kick out of joining in on the fun by finding a new hiding spot. It’s little things like this that keep our environment lighthearted, connected, and just plain enjoyable.”

Wall pointed out that Carrell Blanton Ferris are not only in Fredericksburg but also have offices in Williamsburg, Richmond, and Virginia Beach. He said, “We serve families across Virginia with personalized legal guidance to protect what matters most. Whether preparing an estate plan, helping a family qualify for long term care assistance, or guiding a loved one through an estate's administration, our mission is to bring clarity and peace of mind to every step of the process."
