Kids Corner: Paint Cactus Rock

Materials

• 1 empty Oui yogurt glass cup, cleaned and dried

• Acrylic paint or washable craft paint

• Paintbrushes

• Mod Podge

• Fresh flowers (real or artificial)

• Optional: ribbon, stickers, gems, or a small gift tag

Directions

1. Wash the Rocks
   Wash your smooth rocks with soap and water. Let them dry completely.

2. Paint the Cactus
   Paint the large rocks different shades of green. Paint the small rocks red or pink for the flowers. Let them dry, then flip them over and paint the other side.

3. Add the Spines
   Use a white paint pen or small paintbrush to add dots, lines, dashes, or little crosses for cactus spines.

4. Seal the Rocks
   Brush a thin coat of Mod Podge over the painted rocks and let them dry.

5. Prepare the Pot
   Cover the drainage hole with tape, then fill the pot with decorative sand, gravel, or small pebbles.

6. Plant Your Cactus
   Push the green cactus rocks upright into the sand.

7. Add the Flowers
   Glue a small red or pink rock on top of each cactus to make a colorful flower.
